Sally and Randy Knight
Like many others who are proud to be from the Driftless area, Sally Giese Knight is a supporter of the A.D. German Warehouse and our plans.
Sally grew up in Richland Center and and was a member of the Class of 1967 at Richland Center High School. Like many young people from small Midwest towns, she went on to make her mark away from southwest Wisconsin. She graduated in 1972 from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Textile and Interior Design. Sally also has a degree in Ornamental Horticulture from Mesa Community College in Mesa, Ariz. While at the Ohio State University where she earned a MLA degree in Landscape Architecture, she met and married Randy Knight in 1989.
Randy Knight is Professor Emeritus of Physics at California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo, CA. Previously, he was on the faculty at The Ohio State University. He is the author of Physics for Scientists and Engineers: A Strategic Approach (Pearson, 2017), a calculus-based introductory physics text that incorporates the results of physics education research, and the algebra-based College Physics: A Strategic Approach (Pearson, 2019).
Sally and Randy have been incredibly generous to the A.D. German Warehouse Conservancy, Inc. in its effort to raise funds for the rehabilitation and repurposing of the A.D. German Warehouse and the companion 1912 building. The Knights were among our first donors. Sally was also among the first to be one of the 100 Extraordinary Women and hosted a party for her class reunion so that she could tell others about what we are doing. We are honored to recognize the Knights’ generosity in the restored Warehouse as a way of preserving their legacy of supporting the Richland Center community.
